Major(s): Neuroscience
Employer: Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia
I interned for Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia, working on an initiative aiming to understanding the state of Maternal Oral Health across the state of Georgia. This was a great opportunity for me to gain skills in qualitative research and learn how to conduct policy analyses. I enjoyed being able to partake in interviewing focus groups, completing literature reviews, and qualitatively coding our findings for further analysis. As a neuroscience major with experiencing emphasizing wet lab work, I was excited to explore different avenues of research that I could pursue after graduation. My internship experience exposed me further to the field of public health and its intersection with maternal health—a field I hope to enter in the near future!
